At each step of his career spanning over 45+ years, David has built from essentially nothing. His knowledge and insight stems from his extensive industry experience as an advisor, sales manager and then through various training and leadership roles both within the career and independent distribution channels. He has worked for many of the top-tier insurance companies, building and gaining experience in each of his ventures. His success speaks for itself and his contribution across the industry includes leadership roles with regional and national associations, to position him to be a valued asset in consulting to solve client challenges.

Career Achievements

The majority of David’s career has been focused on distribution management across major insurance companies in Canada. He has acquired the skill of understanding the importance of process and execution to achieve extraordinary results along the way.

  • Built a scratch agency that climbed from last place in the company to number 4, in just over 18 months. His focus was to recruit quality candidates and utilize a systematic approach to executing the sales process.
  • Helped to build and launch a successful MGA.
  • VP of Sales and Marketing to create the distribution of new products to the Canadian landscape as a subsidiary of a major U.S insurance company. The introduction of Critical Illness and Long Term Care have grown to become an important part of Canada’s financial planning landscape.
  • VP of Sales with a leading Canadian insurance company – At the forefront of helping create a new distribution channel for life insurance, (through investment-focused advisors) which became known as National Accounts. which now contributes over 40% of the new insurance premium in Canada.
  • As VP Sales and Distribution, with a top-tier insurer, rebuilt their Wholesale channel. Over an 11 year period, he built a team from 19 to 100 people and through the efforts of everyone achieved exponential growth, increasing company market share to over 20%.
  • Consulted in the financial services industry, focused on aligning company and distributor strategy with a customized distribution framework.
